Sammy White (full name: Sammy Charles White; no nicknames) played catcher from 1951 until 1962 for the Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Braves and Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Red Sox from 1951 - 1959, Braves in 1961 and Phillies in 1962. Over 11 seasons, he played 1043 games, hit 66 home runs, drove in 324 runs, and stole 14 bases. Born on July 7, 1927 in Wenatchee, WA, White stood 6' 3" and weighed 195 lb. He attended Lincoln (Seattle, WA) high school.
