Sam West (full name: Samuel Filmore West; no nicknames) played centerfielder from 1931 until 1942 for the Washington Senators, St. Louis Browns and Chicago White Sox. He played for the Senators from 1931 - 1941, Browns from 1933 - 1938 and White Sox in 1942. Over 16 seasons, he played 1753 games, hit 75 home runs, drove in 934 runs, and stole 54 bases. Born on October 5, 1904 in Longview, TX (All Transactions), West stood 5' 11" and weighed 165 lb. He attended high school.
