About Sam Perkins:
Sam Perkins (full name: Samuel Bruce Perkins; Sam, Big Smooth) played Forward-Center from 1985 until 2001 for the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, Seattle Supersonics and Indiana Pacers. Over 17 seasons, he played 1286 games, scored 15324 points (11.9 ppg) and grabbed 7666 rebounds (6.0 rpg). Perkins also dished out 1975 assists (1.5 apg), made 1105 steals (0.9 spg), and blocked 933 shots (0.7 bpg) during his career. Born in Brooklyn, New York on June 14, 1961, Perkins stands 6-9 and weighs 235 lbs. He attended high school at Shaker in Latham, New York and college at University of North Carolina. He was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1st round (4th pick, 4th overall) of the 1984 NBA draft.
