Sam Lacey (full name: Samuel Lacey; Sam, Slammin' Sam) played Center from 1971 until 1983 for the Cincinnati Royals, Kansas City-Omaha Kings, Kansas City Kings, New Jersey Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers. Over 13 seasons, he played 1002 games, scored 10303 points (10.3 ppg) and grabbed 9687 rebounds (9.7 rpg). Lacey also dished out 3754 assists (3.7 apg), made 999 steals (1.0 spg), and blocked 1160 shots (1.2 bpg) during his career. Born in Indianaola, Mississippi on March 28, 1948, Lacey stands 6-10 and weighs 235 lbs. He attended high school at Gentry in Indianola, Mississippi and college at New Mexico State University. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in the 1st round (5th pick, 5th overall) of the 1970 NBA draft.
