Russell Robinson is an American basketball player who currently plays as guard for the Maine Red Claws of the National Basketball Association Development League. He was born in Bronx, New York City, New York. Robinson attended Rice High School in New York where he played high school basketball. According to industry experts, Robinson, during his junior years was able to lead his team having an average of 18 points and six rebounds per game. And during his senior years he had an average of 22 points and 8 rebounds per game, and was named by the New York Newsday as Manhattan Player of the Year.
After high school, Robinson studied at the University of Kansas, where he took Communication Studies and played college basketball for four seasons. Before moving to the NBA developmental league, Robinson played with Erdemir Zonguldak, which is a basketball club of the Turkish Basketball League based in Zonguldak, Turkey.
Robinson is listed at 6 ft. 3 in. and 200 lbs. Robinson joined the 2008 NBA Draft. However, he was not fortunate enough to get drafted that time and instead joined the Houston Rockets as an undrafted free agent. During the 2008 NBA Development League Draft, Robinson was drafted by the Reno Bighorns.
