Russ Meyer (full name: Russell Charles Meyer; Rowdy and The Mad Monk) played pitcher from 1946 until 1959 for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Dodgers, Cincinnati Redlegs, Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Athletics. He played for the Cubs from 1946 - 1956, Phillies from 1949 - 1952, Dodgers from 1953 - 1955, Redlegs in 1956, Red Sox in 1957 and Athletics in 1959. Over 13 seasons, he started 219 games, won 94 games, struck out 672 batters, and had a 3.99 ERA. Born on October 25, 1923 in Peru, IL, Meyer stood 6' 1" and weighed 175 lb. He attended high school.
