Russ Bauers (full name: Russell Lee Bauers; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1936 until 1950 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Browns. He played for the Pirates from 1936 - 1941, Cubs in 1946 and Browns in 1950. Over 8 seasons, he started 71 games, won 31 games, struck out 300 batters, and had a 3.53 ERA. Born on May 10, 1914 in Townsend, WI, Bauers stood 6' 3" and weighed 195 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on August 20, 1936 and he played his final game on May 6, 1950.
