Ruben Patterson is a National Basketball Association player who hails from Cleveland, Ohio. He had the first years of his college basketball career at Independence Community College and spent the rest of his college years at University of Cincinnati. Before having his college career, he became a known player at John Hay High School in Cleveland. Playing as a small forward, he began his professional basketball career with the NBA team Los Angeles Lakers which selected him in the 1998 National Basketball Association Draft of 1998. However, he did not have his first rookie season in NBA and instead played in the Greek League. As a player for AEK Athens BC, he posted a 12.6 PPG and after that season, he went back to the NBA. He became part of the Seattle SuperSonics and the Denver Nuggets. Patterson also appeared for the Portland Trail Blazers and spent a few seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks.

 

Patterson also appeared in s few games as a point guard and a power forward, proclaiming himself as “Kobe Stopper” because of his ability to create a strong defense against the famous NBA leading light Kobe Bryant. He is currently part of the Champville, a basketball team based in Lebanon.

Ruben Patterson (full name: Ruben Nathaniel Patterson; no nicknames) played Forward from 1999 until 2008 for the Los Angeles Lakers, Seattle Supersonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers. Over 10 seasons, he played 649 games, scored 6953 points (10.7 ppg) and grabbed 2697 rebounds (4.2 rpg). Patterson also dished out 1150 assists (1.8 apg), made 751 steals (1.2 spg), and blocked 249 shots (0.4 bpg) during his career. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 31, 1975, Patterson stands 6-5 and weighs 224 lbs. He attended high school at John Hay in Cleveland, Ohio and college at University of Cincinnati. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2nd round (2nd pick, 31st overall) of the 1998 NBA draft.
