Royce Ring is a professional baseball player who hails from La Mesa, California. He played high school baseball at Monte Vista High School in California where he showed great potential for professional play and then became a popular closer at San Diego State University. He started his Major League Baseball career with the Chicago White Sox which drafted him in the Major League Baseball Draft in the 2002 season.
After his first few professional seasons as a member of the White Sox, he joined the New York Mets via trade that made Roberto Alomar a member of the Chicago White Sox. After the 2005 spring training, he was included in the major league roster of the New York Mets. He had his debut game in the Major League Baseball on April 29, 2005 in a game against the Washington Nationals. However, he logged a not so impressive ERA of 5.06 and so was sent back to play in the minors. After he was released by the team, he joined the San Diego Padres and the Atlanta Braves. At present, he plays for the New York Yankees. As of the 2008 season, he had recorded a win-loss record of 3-3 and an ERA of 4.93. and logged 53 strikeouts in his entire career.
