 Royal Terence Ivey is a professional basketball player who was born on December 20, 1981 in Harlem, New York. He began playing his sport as a basketball varsity athlete in Benjamin N. Cardozo High School and continued showcasing his basketball skills in University of Texas. While in the said university, he led in number of games started with 126. After his successful career in college, he went to professional basketball after being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks during the 2004 National Basketball Association Draft.

 

Listed at 6 ft. 4 in, and weighs 215 lbs., he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks on September 18, 2007. After one season with the Bucks, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers where he recorded 19 points which is his career best. However, in 2009, he opted to go to free agency and became and unrestricted free agent. In August 2009, Ivey signed with the Philadelphia 76ers again. Together with Primoz Brezec, he was then traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on the 18th of February 2010. As of the 2009-2010 seasons, he appeared in 378 games in the league and started 109 of these games. Currently, his listed PPG average is only 3.6 and has a RPG average of 1.2.

He attended high school at Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey and college at University of Texas at Austin. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2nd round (8th pick, 37th overall) of the 2004 NBA draft.
