Playing as a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, Roy Williams was born on December 20, 1981 in Odessa, Texas. He was chosen as the seventh overall pick during the National Football League Draft in the year 2004.
Williams was able to study at Permian High School where he was nicknamed as “The Legend.” He was then drafted by the Lions. It was during the 2004 season when Williams was able to accomplish 54 catches for 817 yards and 8 blazing touchdowns. It was said that during that season, Williams was suffering from an ankle injury. He had his best games played in the 2006 season where he accomplished 1,310 yards and 7 powerful touchdowns. He is said to be on the 2007 Pro Bowl just after Torry Holt withdrew in the game due to an injury. Williams then became the first Detroit wide receiver to make it to the Pro Bowl since 1998.
He also had an acting career and had a small role in the sports film Friday Night Lights in 2004 and it is in the movie where he played as an assistant coach for the rival football team at Lee High School. In the team’s game against the Bears, he accomplished six powerful receptions for 71 yards.
