Roy Thomas (full name: Roy Justin Thomas; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1977 until 1987 for the Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals and Seattle Mariners. He played for the Astros in 1977, Cardinals from 1978 - 1980 and Mariners from 1983 - 1987. Over 8 seasons, he started 13 games, won 20 games, struck out 289 batters, and had a 3.82 ERA. Born on June 22, 1953 in Quantico, VA, Thomas stands 6' 5" and weighs 215 lb. He attended Lompoc (Lompoc, CA) high school and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1st round (6th pick) of the 1971 amateur draft. His debut was on September 21, 1977 and he played his final game on August 4, 1987. Over his career, Thomas made $165,000. Common misspellings of his name include Roy Justin Roy Thomas.
