Ron Villone is an American professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball. Throughout his fifteen season career, Villone played as pitcher for twelve teams in the major league; the Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals and the Washington Nationals. Villone took his college studies when he attended University of Massachusetts Amherst where he was a star for playing two sports, playing baseball and football.
He both batted and threw left handed. Villone began his professional baseball career after he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners during the 1992 amateur draft where he was the first round and fourteenth overall pick of the team. He made his pro debut on April 28, 1995. Before the end of the 1995 seasons, on July 1995, the Mariners dealt Villone to the San Diego Padres. Villone spent the remaining season with the Padres. Villone started the 1996 season with the Padres and proved his capability to be dominant. After his stint with the Padres, Villone joined other numerous teams in the league. During the 2009 seasons, Villone played for the Washington Nationals, after that season, on April 2010, the Nationals agreed with Villone to sign him on a minor league contract.
