About Ron Rothstein Memorabilia & Collectibles
Ronald Rothstein currently works as a coach for professional basketball and formerly played college basketball. He is from Bronxville, New York and was born on December 27, 1942. He played college basketball for the University of Rhode Island and served as captain for the 1964 season.
After graduation, Rothstein worked as a teacher and coach at the Upsala College and Eastchester High School. He also served as the athletic director of the Camp Ma- Ho- Ge. He was hired as a scout for the Atlanta Hawks in 1979 and was then promoted as assistant coach. In 1986, he was the assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons before finally becoming the first coach for the Miami Heat in 1988. He worked with the Heat for 3 seasons before moving on to the Detroit Pistons again this time as a head coach. He also worked as a commentator for the Pistons then served as a staff to other teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, and the Miami Sol of the Women’s National Basketball Association. He returned to the Miami Heat in 2007 to fill in for Pat Riley.
