American football running back, Ron Dayne plays for the Houston Texas. He is well-known as the holder of the NCAA record for career rushing yards. He was born in Berlin, New Jersey on March 14, 1978.

 

Dayne was already an athlete when he studied at Overbrook High School. When he was in high school, he was able to win the Heisman Trophy in the year 1999. In his college days, he is regarded as one of the greatest backs in the history of NCAA. He is also known as “The Great Dayne” throughout his college days. He became the starting running back for four years at Wisconsin. He was then chosen as the 11th pick of the New York Giants during the 2000 National Football League Draft. Dayne was able to lead the team in the Super Bowl XXXV. He was teamed up with Tiki Barber at that time and together, they create the tandem called “Thunder and Lightning.”

 

Dayne was re-signed with the Cowboys during the 2006 offseason and was then named starter. When he became a Texan, he had rushed for 429 yards and 5 blazing touchdowns in December 2006. In his entire career, Dayne was able to play with the New York Giants in 2000 to 2004, with the Denver Broncos in 2005 and with the Houston Texans in 2006.
