Rogatien Rosaire “ Rogie” Vachon is an ice hockey goaltender of the National Hockey League. He was a backup goaltender of
Gump Worsley when he entered in the NHL in the year 1967 for the Montreal Canadiens. The team was able to join the Stanley Finals but only lose to the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in which he himself demanded after trailing down his status as number to Ken Dryden. In the territory of the Kings, he was twice recognized as the NHL Second All-Star Team for the year 1975 and 1977. Together with
Glenn Resch and
Gerry Cheevers, they represented Canada in the Canada Cup as goaltenders. He retired in 1982 and served the Los Angeles Kings as their general manager in 1982-1992. He now serves the Kings organization as Royal Ambassador.
He has also received the Vezina Trophy in 1968; the Canada Cup in 1976; the Stanley Cup Championships with the Montreal Canadiens in 1968, 1969 and 1971.

He played for the Canadies from 1967 - 1972, Kings from 1972 - 1978, Red Wings from 1979 - 1980 and Bruins from 1981 - 1982. Over 16 seasons, he played 795 games, scored 0 goals, and made 10 assists. Born in Palmarolle, Quebec on September 8, 1945, Vachon stands 5-7 and weighs 170 lbs.
