Roger Staubach played as a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. He is a Heisman Trophy winner and he was born on February 5, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Staubach had studied at Purcell High School which is a Catholic Parochial school. He was drafted by the
Dallas Cowboys in 1964 during the 10th round draft pick. In the year 1981, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In the National Football League, he played as a backup for
Craig Morton who was a quarterback. Staubach became the team’s starter during the 1971 season. He was hailed as the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl VI on January 16, 1972 where he completed 12 out of 19 passes for 119 yards and two blazing touchdowns. Staubach was able to lead the Cowboys to NFL championship win during the 1977 season.
He amazingly recorded the highest passer rating in the National Football League in four different seasons. Staubach had also led the league with 23 powerful touchdown passes in the year 1973. He became an All-NFC choice for five times and was chosen to play in six Pro Bowls. In his entire career, he accomplished 1,685 completions for 22,700 yards and 153 blazing touchdowns with 109 powerful receptions.
