Rodney Charles White is currently playing professional basketball for China’s Zhejiang Guangsha. Born on June 28, 1980, White previously played for the National Basketball Association. He spent his college basketball career in the University of North Carolina during which he was named the national freshman of the year by ESPN.

 

White began his pro career when he was selected as the 9th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons. He had his first game against the Memphis Grizzlies on November 1, 2001. He did not get enough exposure though, and was only able to play in 16 games during that season. He was then traded to the Denver Nuggets where he showed his offensive prowess. White even achieved his career high in points with the Nuggets in a game against the Chicago Bulls. He however lacked the defensive skills and was then sent to the Golden State Warriors and was released the following summer. He continued playing basketball in Europe but continued transferring from one team to another. Among the teams he played for are Bàsquet Manresa, Lagun Aro Bilbao, and Arecibo Captains, among others. He has a NBA career- high of 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Rodney White (full name: Rodney Charles White; no nicknames) played Forward from 2002 until 2005 for the Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors. Over 4 seasons, he played 218 games, scored 1540 points (7.1 ppg) and grabbed 485 rebounds (2.2 rpg). White also dished out 237 assists (1.1 apg), made 118 steals (0.5 spg), and blocked 65 shots (0.3 bpg) during his career. Born in Philadelpia, Pennsylvania on June 28, 1980, White stands 6-9 and weighs 238 lbs. He attended high school at Newport School in Silver Spring, Maryland and college at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the 1st round (9th pick, 9th overall) of the 2001 NBA draft.
