Rod Scurry (full name: Rodney Grant Scurry; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1980 until 1988 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners. He played for the Pirates from 1980 - 1985, Yankees from 1985 - 1986 and Mariners in 1988. Over 8 seasons, he started 7 games, won 19 games, struck out 431 batters, and had a 3.24 ERA. Born on March 17, 1956 in Sacramento, CA, Scurry stood 6' 2" and weighed 180 lb. He attended Proctor Hug (Sparks, NV) high school and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1st round (11th pick) of the 1974 amateur draft.
