Roderick F. Gardner was born on October 26, 1977 in Jacksonville, Florida. A wide receiver and currently a free agent, he started as a college football player in Clemson University. A quarterback and also a safety for the practice squad, he was chosen to be a part of the All-ACC in his junior year. According to sources, he became a part of All-American during his senior year and was also a finalist for Biletnikoff Award. He made 7 touchdowns on a huge 58 rceptions and 1050 yards.
In the National Football League Draft of 2001, he was selected by Washington Redskins during the first round draft pick. He was an NFC Offensive Player of the Week after making a 208-yard and one touchdown game against their opponent, Carolina Panthers. As a quarterback, he became 2-for-3 for 46 yards with two passing touchdowns in the 2003 National Football League Season. He also played for Green Bay Packers starting December 19, 2005, and with Kansas City Chiefs in the year 2006. For the Chiefs, he had a three year contract and he made 2 receptions for 17 yards.
In his entire career as a football player, statistics show he made 242 receptions, 3,65 receiving yards and a total of 23 touchdowns. He played with jersey numbers 87, 82 and 85.
