He played for the Giants from 1991 - 1997, Cubs from 1998 - 1999, Red Sox from 1999 - 2001 and Padres from 2003 - 2004. Over 13 seasons, he played games, won 38 games, struck out 644 batters, and had a 3.30 ERA. Born on August 3, 1968 in Burbank, CA, Beck stood 6' 1" and weighed 215 lb. He attended Grant (Van Nuys, CA) high school and was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 13th round of the 1986 amateur draft. His debut was on May 6, 1991 and he played his final game on August 14, 2004. Over his career, Beck made $26,600,331. Common misspellings of his name include Rodney Rod rodney Roy Shooter Beck.
