Robin Ventura is a former American professional baseball player. He was born in Santa Maria, California. Ventura played as third baseman for four teams in the Major League Baseball; the Chicago White Sox, New York Mets, New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ventura was most notable for being part of the White Sox. Ventura took his college education at Oklahoma State University.

Ventura began his professional baseball career after he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox during the 1988 amateur draft where he was the first round pick of the team and formally signed thereafter on October 21, 1988. Ventura was very notable as a part of the White Sox for most of his career highlights and awards came from his White Sox seasons. These include being a two time All-Star selection and six times Gold Glove Award winner. Ventura’s final game was with the Los Angeles Dodgers on October 2, 2004.
