Roberto Ramos is a former player in the Major League Baseball who is now currently the coach for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He played as a catcher in the majors and became a member of the Montreal Expos and the New York Yankees. He started his professional career as a 7th round pick of the Montreal Expos in the Major League Baseball amateur draft of 1974. With the Expos, he made his debut game in the Major League Baseball on September 26, 1978. He batted and threw with his right hand and was listed at 5 ft. 11 inches and 190 lbs. in weight. According to reviews, he was one of the best catchers in the Expos organization. In his six years in the Major League Baseball, he appeared in 103 games and recorded 17 runs batted in. He had his final game in the league on September 9, 1984 and soon retired from professional baseball playing. He ended up his Major League Baseball career with 44 hits.
After retirement, he went to manage the Tampa Bay Devil Rays’ minor league teams. He worked for the position from 1997 until the 1999 season. At present, reviews say he works as the bullpen coach for the team.
