Robert Werdann is a former American professional basketball player and is currently an assistant coach to the New Orleans Hornets of the National Basketball Association. He was born on September 12, 1970 in Sunnyside, New York and graduated in 1988 from the academic and athletic powerhouse Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, New York. He took his college education when he attended St. John's University where he also played college basketball. During his junior year at the university, Werdann was part of the All Big East third team

 

Standing 6 ft. 11 in and weighing in at 250 lbs, Werdann played as center in pro basketball for the Denver Nuggets and New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association. He began his professional basketball career after he was drafted by the Denver Nuggets from St. John's University during the 1992 NBA draft where he was the second round pick of the team. Werdann has a short lived NBA career, playing for only three NBA seasons. Throughout his entire NBA career, Werdann participated in forty seven games and scored a total of a hundred and one career points.

He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the 2nd round (19th pick, 46th overall) of the 1992 NBA draft.
