Robert Svehla (full name: Robert Svehla; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1995 until 2003 for the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs. He played for the Panthers from 1995 - 2002 and Leafs in 2003. Over 9 seasons, he played 655 games, scored 68 goals, and made 267 assists. Born in Martin, Czechoslovakia on January 2, 1969, Svehla stands 6-0 and weighs 209 lbs. He was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 4th round (78th overall) of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Svehla officially announced retirement on September 4, 2003.
