Richard Robert Volk plays as a safety in football at his collegiate alma mater the University of Michigan.  In the 1965 rose Bowl, he beat the Oregon State and was part of the Big 10 Conference. As a professional football player, he went to play for the Baltimore Colts when he got drafted in 1967 and was part of the team that won the Super Bowl V in a game versus the Dallas Cowboys. He was released by the Colts on April 1976 and went with the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins in the concluding month of the 1977 season. He appeared in three games with the Miami Dolphins and posted one interception with Joe Ferguson.
