Rick Sofield (full name: Richard Michael Sofield; no nicknames) played outfielder from 1979 until 1981 for the Minnesota Twins. He played for the Twins from 1979 - 1981. Over 3 seasons, he played 207 games, hit 9 home runs, drove in 69 runs, and stole 9 bases. Born on December 16, 1956 in Cheyenne, WY, Sofield stands 6' 1" and weighs 195 lb. He attended Morristown (Morristown, NJ) high school and was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 1st round (13th pick) of the 1975 amateur draft. His debut was on April 6, 1979 and he played his final game on October 4, 1981. Common misspellings of his name include Richard Michael Rick rickey ricky Sofield.
