Rick Ferrell (full name: Richard Benjamin Ferrell; no nicknames) played catcher from 1931 until 1945 for the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox and Washington Senators. He played for the Browns from 1931 - 1943, Red Sox from 1933 - 1937 and Senators from 1937 - 1945. Over 18 seasons, he played 1884 games, hit 28 home runs, drove in 687 runs, and stole 29 bases. Born on October 12, 1905 in Durham, NC, Ferrell stood 5' 10" and weighed 160 lb. He attended Guilford (Guilford, NC) high school.
