About Richard Jefferson Memorabilia & CollectiblesAmerican professional basketball player, Richard Jefferson is currently playing for the New Jersey Nets as a small forward. He was born in Los Angeles, California on June 21, 1980.
He had played basketball while he was studying at the University of Arizona. Jefferson was then drafted by the Houston Rockets as the 13th overall pick during the NBA Draft in 2001. He was traded to New Jersey together with Jason Collins and Brandon Armstrong for Eddie Griffin. He is currently in his sixth season with the Nets and was a great help to the team during their back-to-back Eastern Conference Championship teams in the years 2002 and 2003. Jefferson also became a member of the USA Olympic basketball team in the Summer Olympics in the year 2004.
When he became the substitute for Keith Van Horn, Jefferson was able to show great defensive skills and also his all-around ability. Jefferson had suffered from an injury during the 2004-05 regular season which became the reason why he was not able to play in the season. Jefferson however did not show defeat and was still able to accomplish 22.2 average points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. It was on January 21, 2007 when he then again suffered from a knee injury but after six weeks, he was back again in the line-up.
