Rich Hill is a Major League Baseball player who is currently playing for the Boston Red Sox. Hill plays as the starting pitcher for the Red Sox organization. Hill, who was born in Milton, Massachusetts, went to Milton High School and played in the school’s baseball team starting from his freshman year. Hill decided to attend the University of Michigan. Originally, Hill was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 1999 but he decided to go to college. During the 2002 MLB draft, Hill was selected by the Chicago Cubs during the fourth round of the draft.
Being assigned to the minor league affiliates of the Chicago Cubs, had compiled a huge number of strikeouts with the help of his curveball. This allowed him to get into the MLB team during the 2005 season but still spent some time playing in the minors. He substituted for an injured Kerry Wood and pitched for five innings against the San Francisco Giants. Hill’s first MLB win came during the 2006 season when he was able to pitch against the Arizona Diamondbacks and picked up another win five days later. In the 2007 season, Hill was able to pitch a perfect game. Hill also played for the Baltimore Orioles, and then the St. Louis Cardinals before signing with the Red Sox.
