He studied at the University of Florida in college and became the team’s third string quarterback. In the first round of the National Football League Draft in 2003, Grossman was drafted by the Chicago Bears. When he suffered from an injury, he had missed most of the games in the 2005 National Football League season. It was on December 18, 2005 when he was able to play again and was able to lead the Bears to a 16-3 victory in a game against the Atlanta Falcons.
In the next game, Grossman had completed seven out of 16 passes for 166 yards for a touchdown and had made one interception in a 24-17 victory against the well-known Green Bay Packers. During his first playoff game, he had threw 17 of 41 passes for 192 yards for one powerful touchdown and a blazing interception in a 29-21 loss in a game against the Carolina Panthers.
