Red Embree (full name: Charles Willard Embree; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1941 until 1949 for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and St. Louis Browns. He played for the Indians from 1941 - 1947, Yankees in 1948 and Browns in 1949. Over 8 seasons, he started 90 games, won 31 games, struck out 286 batters, and had a 3.72 ERA. Born on August 30, 1917 in El Monte, CA (All Transactions), Embree stood 6' 0" and weighed 165 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on September 10, 1941 and he played his final game on October 2, 1949. Common misspellings of his name include Charles Red Willard Embree.
