Ray Scarborough (full name: Ray Wilson Scarborough; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1942 until 1953 for the Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers. He played for the Senators from 1942 - 1950, White Sox in 1950, Red Sox from 1951 - 1952, Yankees from 1952 - 1953 and Tigers in 1953. Over 10 seasons, he started 168 games, won 80 games, struck out 564 batters, and had a 4.13 ERA. Born on July 23, 1917 in Mount Gilead, NC, Scarborough stood 6' 0" and weighed 185 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on June 26, 1942 and he played his final game on September 25, 1953. Common misspellings of his name include Ray Ray Wilson Scarborough.
