Ray Knight (full name: Charles Ray Knight; no nicknames) played third baseman and first baseman from 1974 until 1988 for the Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers. He played for the Reds from 1974 - 1981, Astros from 1982 - 1984, Mets from 1984 - 1986, Orioles in 1987 and Tigers in 1988. Over 13 seasons, he played 1495 games, hit 84 home runs, drove in 490 runs, and stole 14 bases. Born on December 28, 1952 in Albany, GA, Knight stands 6' 1" and weighs 185 lb. He attended Dougherty (Albany, GA) high school and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 10th round of the 1970 amateur draft. His debut was on September 10, 1974 and he played his final game on October 2, 1988. Over his career, Knight made $2,985,000. Common misspellings of his name include Charles Ray Knight.
