Ray Hayworth (full name: Raymond Hall Hayworth; no nicknames) played catcher from 1931 until 1945 for the Detroit Tigers, Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants and St. Louis Browns. He played for the Tigers from 1931 - 1938, Dodgers from 1939 - 1945, Giants in 1939 and Browns in 1942. Over 15 seasons, he played 699 games, hit 5 home runs, drove in 221 runs, and stole 2 bases. Born on January 29, 1904 in High Point, NC, Hayworth stood 6' 0" and weighed 180 lb. He attended Oak Ridge Military Academy (Oak Ridge, NC) (All Transactions) high school.
