Ray Benge (full name: Raymond Adelphia Benge; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1932 until 1938 for the Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Bees and Cincinnati Reds. He played for the Phillies from 1932 - 1936, Dodgers from 1933 - 1935, Bees in 1936 and Reds in 1938. Over 12 seasons, he started 248 games, won 101 games, struck out 655 batters, and had a 4.52 ERA. Born on April 22, 1902 in Jacksonville, TX, Benge stood 5' 9" and weighed 160 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on September 26, 1925 and he played his final game on June 2, 1938.
