Randy Winn is an American pro baseball athlete who hails from Los Angeles, California and is currently playing as outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals of the Major League Baseball. Winn bats with both of his hands and throws right handed, he graduated from San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, California and took his higher education when he attended Santa Clara University.
Winn’s pro baseball career began when he was drafted by the Florida Marlins during the 1995 amateur draft being the third round pick of the team. Winn made his pro debut in the majors on May 11, 1998. Winn was able to make his first All-Star Game appearance in 2002 before leaving the Marlins at the end of that season before he was dealt to the Seattle Mariners.
Before the trading deadline on July 2005, Winn was traded to the Giants in exchange for Yorvit Torrealba. Upon Winn’s arrival, he instantly became a much-needed force for the Giants. After he was released by the Giants, Winn signed one-year deal with the New York Yankees on February 2010 only to be officially released later on June 2, but then signed a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals, three days after his release.
