About Randy Johnson Memorabilia & Collectibles
Left-handed American starting pitcher,
Randy Johnson is currently playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was born in Walnut, Creek California on September 10, 1963.
He had studied at Livermore High School where he was a star in both baseball and basketball. Johnson then decided to pursue his studies at the University of Southern California. When he entered in the majors, Johnson was among the pitcher who have been feared due to his blazing fastball, very intimidating appearance, and his angry yet energetic demeanor while playing. He was able to lead the American League in walks for three consecutive seasons in 1990 to 1992 and also in hit batsmen in the years 1992 and 1993. Johnson was able to break out in the year 1993 with an amazing 19-8 record, 3.24 ERA and had his first of six 300-plus strikeout seasons. He was also able to record his 1,000th career strikeout in a game against
Chuck Knoblauch of Minnesota.
Johnson was also able to grab the American Cy Young Award in the year 1995 with an incredible record of 18-2, 2.48 ERA and 294 strikeouts. He then decided to sign a contract with the
Arizona Diamondbacks. Johnson was able to lead the team to the playoffs with a record of 17-9 and 2.48 ERA. It was in 2002 when he won his fourth successive Cy Young Award.
