Ramon Abraham Castro is considered as one of the most outstanding players in the history of baseball. He hails from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico and was born on March 1, 1976. He is currently affiliated with the
Chicago White Sox as a remarkable catcher. He had his stint with the Sox since the year 2009. The team is said to be home for a number of excellent members such as Nellie Fox, a second baseman from St. Thomas Township, Pennsylvania, Harold Baines, a right fielder from Easton, Maryland, as well as
Luke Appling, a shortstop from High Point, North Carolina. The White Sox is currently based in Illinois and is a member of the American League under the Central Division.
Ramon Castro had his start in the baseball league when he was selected by the Houston Astros during an amateur draft in 1994. At such time, he became the first player from Puerto Rico to have been drafted in the first round. Four years after, he was then exchanged for Jay Powell, another well-known relief pitcher from
Florida Marlins.
Castro remained in the Marlins for five successful years having led the said team in several wins. In 2005, he then hopped to another group which was the New York Mets, during his stint with the Mets, he was backed-up by an excellent catcher,
Mike Piazza. In 2009 then, he was sent back to the White Sox where he was taken in for the spot of being a pitcher which was emptied when Lance Broadway left.
