Preston Carpenter (fullname: Verda Preston Carpenter; no nicknames) played from 1956 until 1967 for the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins. He played 149 games, starting 12 of those. Born in Hayti, MO on January 24, 1934, Carpenter stands 6'2 and weighs 190 lbs. He attended college at Arkansas. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 1st round (13th overall) of the 1956 NFL Draft.
