Pinky Woods (full name: George Rowland Woods; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1943 until 1945 for the Boston Red Sox. He played for the Red Sox from 1943 - 1945. Over 3 seasons, he started 44 games, won 13 games, struck out 124 batters, and had a 3.97 ERA. Born on May 22, 1920 in Waterbury, CT, Woods stood 6' 5" and weighed 225 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on June 20, 1943 and he played his final game on September 23, 1945. Common misspellings of his name include George Pinky Rowland Woods.
