Pinky Whitney (full name: Arthur Carter Whitney; no nicknames) played third baseman and second baseman from 1932 until 1939 for the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Braves and Boston Bees. He played for the Phillies from 1932 - 1939, Braves from 1933 - 1935 and Bees in 1936. Over 12 seasons, he played 1539 games, hit 93 home runs, drove in 696 runs, and stole 45 bases. Born on January 2, 1905 in San Antonio, TX (All Transactions), Whitney stood 5' 10" and weighed 165 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 11, 1928 and he played his final game on September 5, 1939. Common misspellings of his name include Arthur Carter Pinky Whitney.
