Pinky Higgins (full name: Michael Franklin Higgins; Pinky) played third baseman from 1933 until 1946 for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. He played for the Athletics from 1933 - 1936, Red Sox from 1937 - 1946 and Tigers from 1939 - 1946. Over 14 seasons, he played 1802 games, hit 140 home runs, drove in 930 runs, and stole 61 bases. Born on May 27, 1909 in Red Oak, TX, Higgins stood 6' 1" and weighed 185 lb. He attended Adamson (Dallas, TX) high school. His debut was on June 25, 1930 and he played his final game on September 29, 1946. Common misspellings of his name include Michael Franklin mike Pinky Higgins.
