Pierre Pilote is a former National Hockey League player who was born as Joseph Albert Pierre Paul Pilote on December 11, 1931. He started his hockey career in the Ontario Hockey Association where he joined the St. Catharines Teepees. In his stint with the said team, he showed awesome performances that attracted scouts of professional hockey teams. He started his professional career in the minor league team Buffalo Bisons and appeared in a few seasons in the American Hockey League. His National Hockey League career began when he joined the Chicago Blackhawks who selected him in the National Hockey League draft. He started playing for the team in the 1955 to 1956 seasons. He spent a total of thirteen seasons with the Blackhawks and had a one-year stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Among his notable recognitions is the Norris Trophy which he received three times for his superb defense skills. He was also part of the Blackhawks’ game in the Stanley Cup and was hailed as the team captain of the team. In 1975, he was placed in the Hockey Hall of Fame and was included in the list of 100 greatest hockey players. His jersey number 3 was retired on a special ceremony conducted on November 12, 2008.

Pierre Pilote (full name: Pierre Pilote; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1956 until 1969 for the Chicago Black Hawks and Toronto Maple Leafs. He played for the Black Hawks from 1956 - 1968 and Leafs in 1969. Over 14 seasons, he played 890 games, scored 80 goals, and made 418 assists. Born in Kenogami, Quebec on December 11, 1931, Pilote stands 5-10 and weighs 178 lbs. He was inducted into Hockey Hall of Fame as Player in 1975.
