 Pierce Holt is a retired professional football player who appeared in the National Football League in the 1988 season all the way to the 1995 season. Holt was born in Marlin, Texas and played as a defensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Falcons while in the NFL.

 

Holt decided to go to attend Angelo State University where he played collegiate football. In Angelo State, Holt excelled not just in playing football but also with his academics. During the 1986 and the 1987 seasons, Holt was named into the first teams of the All-American selection. Holt was named into the first team of the All-LSC selection for three instances. He was also named as the LSC Defensive Player of the Year for two seasons. Academically, Holt got in the Academic All-LSC Squad’s first team and received the Small College Defensive Player of the Year Award during the 1987 season.

 

During the 1988 NFL draft, Holt was signed by the San Francisco 49ers and received All-NFL Rookie honors by the end of that season. He was able to play in the 1992 Pro-Bowl and was a part of the 49ers team that won the back-to-back Super Bowls of the 1988 and 1989 seasons.

Born in Marlin, TX on January 1, 1962, Holt stands 6'4 and weighs 275 lbs. He attended college at Angelo State. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2nd round (39th overall) of the 1988 NFL Draft.
