Phil Masi (full name: Philip Samuel Masi; no nicknames) played catcher from 1939 until 1952 for the Boston Bees, Boston Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox. He played for the Bees from 1939 - 1940, Braves from 1941 - 1949, Pirates in 1949 and White Sox from 1950 - 1952. Over 14 seasons, he played 1229 games, hit 47 home runs, drove in 420 runs, and stole 45 bases. Born on January 6, 1916 in Chicago, IL, Masi stood 5' 10" and weighed 177 lb. He attended Austin (Chicago, IL) high school. His debut was on April 23, 1939 and he played his final game on August 17, 1952.
