Phil Esposito was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on February 20, 1942.
In the 1964 season, he joined the Chicago Black Hawk and dealt with the Boston Ruins in the 1976 season. After 2 years, he was named the first NHL player to score 100 points with 126 in one season. In the same year of 1969, he was able to capture the Art Ross Trophy. For four consecutive years, Esposito was the top scorer of the regular season. For another 6 consecutive times, he was named to the NHL’s First All- Star team in the year 1969 up to 1974. He won the Hart Trophy twice, in the 1969 season and 1974. Esposito was then named the most valuable player of those seasons.
In the seasons of 1970 and 1972, together with
Bobby Orr, Esposito led the Bruins to Stanley Cup. He finished with a record of 76 in the season of 1970 and the later part of 1971 and was claimed to be the most goals scored in a season. The following year, he won the Lou Marsh Trophy after playing for the Team Canada as the captain. He was traded to the New York Rangers in the 1975 and 1976 season. Esposito had participated playing for 18 seasons in the National Hockey League. His previous teams are the
Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.
