Peter Worrell is a former Canadian pro ice hockey player who played as left winger for the Florida Panthers and the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League. Worrell hailed from Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada. Before making his way to the National Hockey League, Worrel spent a few years in the junior leagues. He was a member of the Hull Olympiques for three seasons.

 

And during these three seasons, Worrell was part of two Quebec Major Junior Hockey League championship teams and part of the 1997 Memorial Cup winning team. Worrell’s pro hockey career began after he was drafted by the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League during the 1995 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut during the 1997-98 season where he participated in nineteen games and accumulating a hundred and fifty three PIMs but failed to register a single point.

 

However, on February 8, 1999, in their match against the St. Louis Blues, Worrell scored his first NHL goal. On July 2003 Worrell was dealt to the Colorado Avalanche where he missed the first twenty seven games of that season following a knee injury. Worrell had his retirement after the 2006 seasons. Following his retirement from his playing career, Worrell agreed to become head coach for the Florida Atlantic University on May 18, 2010.

He played for the Panthers from 1998 - 2003 and Avalanche in 2004. Over 7 seasons, he played 391 games, scored 19 goals, and made 27 assists. Born in Pierrefonds, Quebec on August 18, 1977, Worrell stands 6-6 and weighs 235 lbs. He was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the 7th round (166th overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
