Peter Forsberg is a professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for the Modo Hockey in Elitserien. Forsberg is also an unrestricted free agent in the NHL. A number of hockey scholars regard Forsberg as one of the best passers in the entire sport’s history. As of 2010, Forsberg is ranked 9th for total points per game, and is ranked fourth when it comes to assists.
Forsberg first played for Modo Hockey before joining the NHL. During the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, Forsberg was picked by the Philadelphia Flyers although the team decided to trade the player to the Quebec Nordiques in 1992 in order to acquire Eric Lindros. Due to a lockout, Forsberg’s debut to the NHL was pushed to 1995. By the end of that season, Forsberg was awarded with the Calder Memorial Trophy and was named into the NHL All-Rookie Team. Forsberg would be able to make the most scores in his entire career at the same time help to clinch the Stanley Cup victory for the Quebec Nordiques in the 1995-96 season. Now with the Avalanche, Forsberg would win his second Stanley Cup during the 2001 season.
Forsberg was named into the 1998, 1999 and 2003 NHL First All-Star teams and win the Hart Memorial Trophy in 2003.

Born in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden on July 20, 1973, Forsberg stands 6-0 and weighs 205 lbs. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1st round (6th overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
