Pete Sampras was successfully elected to the 2007 class of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Sampras was born on August 12, 1971 in Washington, DC and is also known as the former World Number 1 tennis player.
Sampras was 17 years of age when he became a professional tennis player. He was able to win his first top-level singles titles in February 1990 and in August he successfully won his first Grand Slam title during the U.S. Open. Sampras had won of five career titles during the Tennis Masters Cup held on 1991 and he was also a runner-up during the U.S. Open in the following year.
